DENITRIFICATION APPARATUS AND BIOLOGICAL NITRIFICATION AND DENITRIFICATION APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a denitrification apparatus and a biological nitrification and denitrification apparatus which are suitable for miniaturization.

SOLUTION: A liquid cyclone 17 recovers suspended particulate organic materials contained in wastewater and the recovered suspended particulate organic materials are sent to a UASB reactor 7. The suspended particulate organic materials become a core of granule sludge 29, which allows the granule sludge 29 to stably grow and maintains the granule sludge 29 at high concentration, thereby stabilizing denitrification performance. An SSB reactor 9 is horizontal and thin and maintains the inside thereof in an aerobic condition in cooperation with a siphon 47, which simplifies the configuration of the apparatus. As a result, the biological nitrification and denitrification apparatus 1 can be miniaturized.
