PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection method of a substance to be detected in a sample capable of reducing a noise, and having far superior sensitivity than ever before.

SOLUTION: In this method for detecting a substance to be detected in a sample by a sensor including a substrate 1, and a channel having a source electrode 3 and a drain electrode 4 provided oppositely at a prescribed interval on an insulating thin film 2 formed on the upper surface of the substrate 1, the channel is constituted of ultrafine fibers, and after dropping sample solution onto the channel, a solvent in the sample solution is vaporized.
