PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for removing the overlap and matching of panoramas by an area dividing method and a shielding character filling method. SOLUTION: The image matching system is used for matching panoramas of images viewed from different angles of an identical scene photographed by a plurality of video cameras installed in different locations and includes an area dividing module, a character filling module, an image compressing module, and an image matching module.
