PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for converting wavelength of light in which information is encoded, while doubling sensitivity. SOLUTION: A method for encoding information encoded during spatial intensity variation of light characterized by a first wavelength into light characterized by a second wavelength, includes: generation of first electronic density distribution homogeneous with spatial variation in intensity of the first wavelength light; generation of second additional electronic density homogeneous with the first electronic density distribution; capture of electrons from the first and the second electronic density distribution in the capture region to generate an electric field homogeneous with the density distribution in a material modulating characteristic of light passed through the material in accordance with the electric field of the material; and encoding of the second wavelength light by the information by making the modulated material transmit the second wavelength light, thereby modulating the second wavelength light in accordance with the electric field.
