PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform stable coating while preventing the inner surface or the feed part of a freight tank from being damaged. SOLUTION: A hanging coating device (10) includes a support (11) hung through an opening part (920) formed on the upper surface of the tank (800), a coating device body (12) liftable along the support and pivotable around the support, a memory part (101) memorizing the dimension data of the tank, a calculation part (102) periodically computing the shortest distance between each of a plurality of supervising points arranged over the coating device body and the tank memorized by memory part, and an operation stop part (103) stopping the operation of the coating device body when at least one of plural distances computed by the calculation part is smaller than the predetermined value.
