In a dynamo-electric machine e.g. turbogenerator whose rotor winding 14 is supplied with D.C. excitation through a rectifier assembly 8, 9 from an A.C. exciter generator 4 whose shaft 3 is directly coupled at 5 to that 1 of the machine and mounts for rotation therewith the rectifier assembly, the latter is connected to the rotor winding through radial connectors 10a . . . 11b passing through the exciter shaft 3 to conductors 12, 13 passing through a bore in the rotor shaft 1 and extending into a bore (34), Fig. 6, in the shaft 3. Similar connectors 15a. . . 16b connect the conductors to the winding and, as disclosed in Specification 1,129,144, are gas or liquid cooled and connect to equipotential points on the directlycooled winding. |
