Apparatus for the treatment of a patient suffering from burns comprises a casing formed by transparent top and side panels 7, 8, 9 and foot and head panels 3, 13, the latter being provided with. an opening 14 for the head of the patient, mounted on a tray 1 carried by a trolley 2 and housing a removable chadle-shaped stretcher. The stretcher, see Fig. 2, consists of elastic bands 41 bridging tubes 39. 40 connected by arcuate members 37, 38. The latter are supported on elastically deformable rollers, which permit the stretcher to be tilted and held in the tilted position. Brakes may be used to ensure that the stretcher is held tilted. The trolley 2 may be provided with transversely-extending channel-shaped members in which supports 32, 33 for the stretcher may slide. The tray 1 may house heating elements to provide a suitable temperature within the casing, a water-cooled coil to prevent condensation, and piping for the supply of oxygen or other gaseous or atomised fluid. A shower-head and associated piping may be mounted within the casing. |
