A projection display device includes a light source having a light emitting portion, a reflector which reflects light emitted from the light emitting portion, and a fixing portion which fixedly mounts the light emitting portion with respect to the reflector. The device further includes a first air supply portion and a second air supply portion which supply a cooling air; a first air drawing portion which separates the cooling air from the first air supply portion into streams of the cooling air to guide one of the streams of the cooling air into an interior of the reflector in a first direction and to guide the other of the streams of the cooling air to the fixing portion in a second direction; and a second air drawing portion which separates the cooling air from the second air supply portion into streams of the cooling air to guide one of the streams of the cooling air into the interior of the reflector in a third direction and to guide the other of the streams of the cooling air to the fixing portion in a fourth direction.
