The light-emitting device for an umbrella according to the present invention comprises a casing on the lower surface of which there is an attachment recess whereby it can be attached to and detached from the handle of an umbrella; a battery which is housed in the casing and supplies electrical power; a light-emitting element which is housed in the casing and emits light by means of the electrical power supplied from the battery; and a switch which is provided between the light-emitting element and the battery and supplies the light-emitting element with the electrical power of the battery depending on whether or not rainwater has flowed in; thereby making it possible to prevent the user becoming involved in accidents in rainy environments since it operates such that light is emitted automatically in rainy environments.
