<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a retardation compensation film by which a retardation film having adequate and sufficient retardation and adequate reverse dispersibility and capable of suppressing the deterioration of optical compensation performance under a high temperature is obtained. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the retardation compensation film includes a heating and stretching step of heating and stretching a film formed from an amorphous resin. As the amorphous resin, an amorphous resin obtained by polymerizing a composition containing a polymer component having position refractive index anisotropy, a monomer component having negative refractive index anisotropy is used. When the glass transition temperature is expressed by Tg (°C), the radical generating temperature of the polymerization is expressed by Tc (°C) and the heating and stretching temperature in heating and stretching the film is expressed by Ts (°C), the relation (1) of Tg<Tc<Ts is satisfied. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
