<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve front plane luminance with a small number of optical sheets having a light condensing function and a polarization separation function. <P>SOLUTION: The display apparatus is equipped with an image display element which transmits light emitted from a light source, a polarizing plate which has a transmission axis provided at a light incidence side in the image display element and a lens sheet 10 which is provided between the light source and the polarizing plate. The lens sheet 10 has a first lens array 13A composed of two or more first lenses 13 which are formed at a light emission side sheet surface 12b of a base material 12, and are arranged in parallel with each other along one direction. A second lens is provided in a direction orthogonal to the first lens 13 to form a protrusion, and a second lens array 14A is provided which is composed of two or more second lenses arranged in parallel with each other along a direction of arranging the first lenses 13.
