<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser beam welding apparatus and a laser beam welding method capable of preventing the height of a bead part from being excessive when executing the laser beam welding of two vertically overlapped metal plates while feeding a filler wire. <P>SOLUTION: The first laser beam is relatively moved to the two metal plates along the predetermined welding path while applying the first laser beam LB1 to a surface of the upper metal plate out of the two metal plates W1, W2. The metal plates are melted by the first laser beam to form a molten pool WY in which a molten metal Wy is stored. The filler wire X is fed to the molten pool from the rear side in the welding advancing direction from the first laser beam, and the second laser beam LB2 is applied while following the first laser beam so as to melt a surface of a bead part WB formed by the solidified molten metals Wy, Wy' behind the molten pool in the welding advancing direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
