Disclosed is a novel complex alcohol ester composition which is useful as a lubricant. Specifically disclosed is a complex alcohol ester composition that contains a polyester in which at least two polyol molecules each represented by general formula (I): R(OH)n (wherein R represents an n-valent aliphatic, alicyclic or aromatic ring group, one or more carbon atoms not adjacent to each other in the R may be respectively substituted by an oxygen atom, and n represents an integer of not less than 2) are linked through at least one polybasic acid molecule by at least two ester bonds and at least some of unlinked side chain ends of the polyol molecules have a group represented by general formula (II): (AO)kR2 (wherein R2 represents a hydrocarbon group, A represents a divalent linking group, and k represents an integer) through a polybasic acid.
