<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic timepiece for informing its user of the reason for not performing ordinary display without consuming power, and preventing a screen from being seared by long-hour display of the reason. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic timepiece 1A includes a display means 3 having a memory property, and a control means for controlling the display means. The control means performs display-mode changeover control for performing changeovers of the display modes of the display means, between a first mode ST1 for performing the ordinary display, and a second mode ST2 for displaying the reason for not performing the ordinary display by given visual representation. Changeover control of the display mode from the first mode ST1 to the second mode ST2 is performed, when the state of the electronic timepiece fulfills given conditions in the first mode. In the second mode, the visual representation is displayed by the display means 3, and the position of the visual representation is changed from the position of the last display, when conditions for changing the position of reason display are fulfilled. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
