<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coupling device and a communication system wherein a primary antenna provided in a communication apparatus, and plurality of secondary antennas coupled by the coupling device have nearly the same communication range. <P>SOLUTION: The coupling device is interposed between the primary antenna provided in the communication apparatus and the plurality of secondary antennas, and has: a substrate that constitutes a body of the coupling device; a first coil antenna disposed on the first surface side of the substrate; and a second coil antenna disposed on the second surface side of the substrate.
