PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing occurrence of insufficiency in image density at an end on a large gap side in an axial direction of a photoreceptor even when developing potential correction processing is performed after continuously outputting images having a high area rate. SOLUTION: A controller is configured to form a gradation pattern image at the end of an intermediate transfer belt 41 on either end side out of one side end and other end side in a width direction of the belt 41, which is equivalent to a downstream side in a developer conveying direction in a second developer storing chamber of a developing device which is not shown in the figure, and form a gradation pattern image in an area nearer to a center than the end on the other end side thereof, which is equivalent to an upstream side therein, in the developing potential correction processing.
