PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure in which an excellent display performance is secured by controlling generation of a point defect or the like and a long term reliability can be improved in a display device using an organic light emitting element. SOLUTION: The spacing between the organic light emitting element 106 and a sealing substrate 101 is controlled by an upper end of a bank 107 installed in the pixel part 120 and an upper end of an insulating film 108 installed in the driving circuit part. By providing a gap between the organic light emitting element and the sealing substrate, damages of the organic light emitting element are suppressed. Further, since the element substrate and the sealing substrate can be made as close as possible, moisture invading from the side face of the display device can be maintained to be little.
