Disclosed is a hermetically sealed compressor which is effective in suppressing whirling of a rotary shaft tip caused by a bearing frame part, by preventing deformation of the bearing frame part caused by the gas load, thereby improving reliability. A bearing part in which the rotary shaft is journalled and a bearing member comprising a bearing frame part which holds the bearing part are provided between one end of a cylindrical hermetically sealed container in the axial direction and an electric motor part for driving the compression mechanism part. The bearing frame part has a portion of high rigidity and a portion of low rigidity in the circumferential direction. The bearing frame part is disposed in such a way that the direction in which the load acting on the bearing part is at the maximum value and the direction in which the rigidity of the bearing frame part is high coincide.
