摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromechanical conversion mechanism capable of attaining a large displacement amount, large generated force and high rigidity, to provide a high-speed, inexpensive inkjet head which uses the mechanism and has high resolution, and to provide an inexpensive ultrasonic probe which has high sensitivity and high resolution. <P>SOLUTION: This invention relates to the electromechanical conversion mechanism which includes a flat plate type substrate, grooves formed in a two-dimensional matrix shape on the substrate, a displacement layer formed on the grooves, and an electromechanical conversion element formed on the displacement layer corresponding to the groove one to one, the electromechanical conversion mechanism being capable of attaining the large displacement amount, large generated force, and high rigidity by forming the grooves and electromechanical conversion element in a shape obtained by bending a thin and long shape having short side of prescribed width and long sides longer than the short sides into a shape formed of a curved line or a curved line and a straight line which are connected together.
