PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain contents of the electronic mail and the communication with the party, even if a phone conversation is interposed in exchange of electronic mail. SOLUTION: The character string conversion device includes a mailer part 2 which stores electronic mails transmitted and received; an incoming and outgoing history storage part 3 which stores the telephone numbers of calling parties or call-in parties; an address book 4 which associates the telephone numbers stored in the incoming and outgoing history storage part 3 with e-mail addresses; and a conversion part 1 which converts voice data transmitted and received with a calling or call-in party into text data, extracts an e-mail address associated with the telephone number stored in the incoming and outgoing history storage part 3 from the address book 4, converts the text data into a format of e-mail with the extracted e-mail address as a transmitting source or an address, and outputs the result data to the mailer part 2.
