ADSORBENT CONTAINING SUZ-4 ZEOLITE FOR HYDROCARBON IN EXHAUST GAS OF AUTOMOBILE, AND METHOD FOR ADSORPTION REMOVAL OF HYDROCARBON

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that the hydrocarbon adsorption amount is lowered after hydrothermal endurance in the case adsorption purification treatment of hydrocarbons in exhaust gas of automobile by using a hydrocarbon adsorbent containing a zeolite. SOLUTION: The adsorbent for hydrocarbons in exhaust gas of an automobile containing SUZ-4 zeolite; particularly, the adsorbent for hydrocarbons in exhaust gas of an automobile containing SUZ-4 zeolite having a molar ratio of SiO2/Al2O3not lower than 10 and not higher than 16, a ratio of protons to the exchangeable cations not lower than 70%, and an average particle diameter of 0.5 μm or more; keeps high hydrocarbon absorption capability even after hydrothermal endurance. The molar ratio of SiO2/Al2O3is more preferably not lower than 10 and not higher than 14; the ratio of protons to the exchangeable cations not lower than 90%; and an average particle diameter of 1 μm or more.
