The invention relates to an agent for dyeing and/or permanently changing the shape of keratin fibres, charcterised in that said agent contains, in a cosmetic carrier, at least one dyeing and/or shape-changing component and at least one extract from the roots of Boerhavia diffusa. The claimed agents are suitable, in particular, for reducing irritation to the scalp which occurs as a result of oxidative hair treatment such as oxidative hair dyeing, hair lightening and perming.
