A composition for accelerating the gain in body weight of livestock comprises, as effective ingredient, 1-40% by weight of enduracidin, in admixture with a carrier edible by the livestock. An animal feed composition comprises a livestock feedstuff having dispersed therein 5-50 mg. of enduracidin per kilogram of feedstuff. The livestock's drinking water or feedstuff may also contain antibiotics such as aureomycin, mikamycin, oleandomycin, penicillin, tetracyclin, amino acids such as glutamic acid, aspartic acid, leucine, lysine, tryptophane, valine, serine, proline glucine, alanine, isoleucine, phenlalanine, argine, methionine, threonine or their salts and vitimins such as Vitamin B, Vitamin B 2 , Vitamin B 6 , Vitamin B 12 , Vitamin C, Vitamin D, biotin, folic acid, Vitamin K, Vitamin E, Vitamin P, inositol, orotic acid and α-lipoic acid. |
