PURPOSE: An external electrode fluorescent lamp is provided to secure a large light emission region by forming a metal electrode comprised of a conductive material in both sides of a glass tube. CONSTITUTION: In an external electrode fluorescent lamp, a fluorescent material is coated in the inner surface of the glass tube. The glass tube receives a discharge gas and is sealed up. A first electrode(21) is formed on external both sides of the glass tube. A second electrode(22) is formed on the surface of the first electrode in both sides of the glass tube. A second electrode is coupled in a lamp socket.
