1,206,953. Electromagnetic flowmeters. MAWDSLEY'S Ltd. Jan.29, 1968 [Feb.4, 1967], No.5491/67. Heading G1N. In an induction flowmeter, electrodes 24, accommodated in slots 22 in an insulating body 19 having a fluid accommodating bore 20, have contact surfaces elongated in a direction parallel to the axis of the bore and flush with the bore. As shown, the tube 19 is held in a bore 10 of a non- magnetic, metallic block 1, the electrodes and tube 19 being held in place by an epoxy resin moulded in situ in a bore 12. The block is fixed in a liquid flow-pipe and held between a pair of E-shaped cores (2), (3) having energizing windings (6), (7), Figs.1 and 2 (not shown). Alternatively, the electrodes may be cast or moulded in a block of insulating material, the bore being cleaned out to size, e.g. by reaming, to expose the elongated electrode contact area.
