The dynamic parameter determining method involves representing a dynamic parameter for a transverse movement of a fixed object (16). Two angle resolved spaced sensors (14L,14R) are provided with a motor vehicle (10) for fixing an object. The dynamic parameter is calculated according to radial components that are measured from both the spaced sensors. An independent claim is included for a driver assistance system for a motor vehicle.
