[Also in Division B8] A device for distributing animal fodder comprises an elongated open ended tray 20 propelled back and forth beneath a fodder supply outlet 12 by drive means 30, a number of dividers 52 being mounted along the tray so as to be movable between a position allowing a layer of fodder to pass the divider as the tray travels in one direction and a second position of engagement into the fodder as the tray moves in the opposite direction whereby the layer of fodder is held against movement with the tray and is progressively dropped as the open end of the tray slides out from under the layer of fodder. The sides 26 of the tray have a flange at their upper edges, which flanges move along tracks provided by rollers 24 mounted on track members (22) as the tray is reciprocated by means by electric motor 30 which is controlled by reversing switch 32 actuated by collars 46, 48 on cable 38. The feed supply outlet 12 is located centrally of the track and the tray carries flexible shoots 66 at its ends. Dividers 52 are pivoted on brackets 50 arranged on track members (22) so that the dividers on the left of the outlet 12 are prevented from swinging anticlockwise and those on the right from swinging clockwise. Each divider has a lower portion formed of resilient sheet material and carries tines at its lower edge. |
