The invention relates to a method and a device for experimentally determining the mechanical and volumetric efficiency of a working or power radial turbine. According to the invention, the method consists in testing a turbine having a rotor whereof the interior is obturated at various rotation speeds and pumping heights or heads, to determine losses caused by hydrodynamic friction within the bearings, seals and by the rotation of a rotor disc inside a casing, as well as the liquid flow rate lost by a pump or turbine within labyrinth seals between the rotor and the casing at various rotation speeds and pumping heights or heads. The device for carrying out the method consists of a strip (1) having the same width as the periphery of the rotor of a turbine to be obturated, made of a thin and resistant material, the interior of the rotor being filled with a light substance (2) which cures after pouring, to prevent a fluid (F) from entering the rotor, a manometer (3) for measuring a load (H) in a backwater flange of a pump or head (Ht), a revolution counter to measure the rotational speed and a previously calibrated electric motor for driving the pump and turbine at various speeds.
|
