PURPOSE: A caller ID selecting method is provided to selectively transfer registered originator character information by registering at least one kind of caller character information. CONSTITUTION: A communication service provider determines a character information selection number, and a user registers caller character information proper to each number. The communication device of the communication provider stores the caller character information with the mobile phone number of an owner. If a portable phone caller presses a send button, the communication device confirms the phone number of the caller in advance. The communication device confirms the phone number of the receiver, and transfers the caller character information to a receiver phone.
