PURPOSE: A method and a system for automatically controlling the volume of television according to the size of background noise are provided to enable a viewer to watch TV without background noise. CONSTITUTION: A receiver or a remote controller measures a noise around a television receiver. The volume of the sound is restored at a predetermined audio level after removing the noise. The vibration of the sound, which a television receiver case makes, is removed by using a noise measurer. A viewer watches TV without feeing the variation of the sound.
