<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connection device for connecting a branch pipe to a main pipe laid underground. <P>SOLUTION: The connection device is used for connecting to the main pipe the branch pipe which is inserted into a hole extending to a connection hole of the underground main pipe. It comprises a connection joint consisting of an elastic cylindrical member mounted at the lower end of the branch pipe, the cylindrical member having a lower end insertable into the connection hole of the main pipe, a flange portion provided around the lower end and seatable on the outer peripheral face defining the connection hole of the main pipe, and a notch portion provided at the lower end and extending to the peripheral direction of the lower end and opening in the upward direction, and a cylindrical wedge member provided around the cylindrical member and partially inserted into the notch portion of the cylindrical member, a plurality of female screw members mounted on the branch pipe and each having a screw groove extending to the axial direction of the branch pipe, bolts each having a shaft end to be threaded to the female screw member for abutting on the wedge member, and rods engaged with the heads of the bolts and extending along the branch pipe to the ground. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
