发明名称 FEEDING ROD-SHAPED ARTICLES INTO BINS
摘要 1,212,308. Endless conveyers. TOBACCO RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT INSTITUTE Ltd. 1 April, 1969 [9 April, 1968], No. 17067/69. Heading B8A. Cigarettes are fed by an endless belt 12 into a bin 6 under the control of an arm 9 which remains in a horizontal position (Fig. 1) until the cigarettes lift a control member 13 up to a point where it engages the operating arm of a switch 14. This initiates the movement of the arm 9 in a clockwise direction and when it reaches a position corresponding to the angle of repose of the cigarettes as they accumulate on the base of the bin 7 (as shown in dot-dashlines), a switch 16 is actuated by a cam 15 so as to energize the drive of an endless conveyer 8 for discharging the bin. When the level of cigarettes in the bin drops below a photo-electric detector 18, the arm 19 is caused to rotate back in an anti-clockwise direction to the Fig. 1 position. The arm 9 has a hinged extension 11. Both the arm 19 and the member 13 may be of ladder-like form (Fig. 5, not shown). In a modification (Fig. 4) the arm 9 is replaced by an arm 20 which moves anticlockwise from a horizontal position (dot-dash lines) to the position shown in full lines. When cigarettes which are fed up a channel 31 by a rotary member 32, they deflect a member 22 into engagement with the arm of a switch 33. When the arm 20 engages a switch 36 the conveyer 8 is activated. Curtains 24 to 30 control the build-up of cigarettes in the bin.
