The wall column has a vertically running rail (18) comprising an angle profile with a border (26) and a side piece (22) arranged at a distant from the border at right-angle. The vertically running rail is fastened to grids (16) that are fastened to grid walls by clamps and screw-nut connections. The vertically running rail exhibits a U-profile in a cross section. The side piece extends into a stone basket and projects outward. A lower end of the vertically running rail protrudes over the stone basket. The angle profile exhibits a U-shape, T-shape or L-shape in cross section.
