The invention relates to an equipment for controlled cerebral ventricular active lavage, in the treatment of diseases of infectious, vascular and tumour etiology. According to the invention, the equipment comprises a non-invasive peristaltic pump (12) to instill a lavage solution from a steel tank (6) into the ventricular cavity of the right cerebral ventricle (5) through a hose (11) and a catheter (13), the said steel tank (6) being provided with a cover and a nozzle and placed within another steel tank (7) heated by a thermal resistor (8) regulated by a thermostat (9) and controlled by means of a digital temperature monitor (10), and a second pump (16) sucking from the cistern magna (26) the solution containing infectious accumulations, through a hose (15), and discharging it into a collecting tank (17), the two instillation and sucking pumps (12 and 16) being controlled by means of some electronic blocks (23, 24 and 22, 25), so as to operate alternately, depending on the systole and diastole of the local carotic pulse detected by means of a local pulse detector (18) coupled to an operational amplifier (19) controlling the electronic blocks (23 and 22) for starting the instillation pump (12) or the aspiration pump (16), the intracranial pressure upon instillation of the lavage solution being measured by means of a catheter with transducer (20), while the pressure reached within the skull (1) in the moment of suction is measured by means of a second catheter with transducer (21).
|
