摘要 1,203,792. Static converters; frequency changing. AJAX MAGNETHERMIC CORP. 31 Aug., 1967 [1 Sept., 1966], No. 26824/67. Heading H2F. Relates to control arrangements for a static converter for converting a 3-phase input to a single-phase selectively variable higher frequency output, e.g. to supply melting furnaces or variable-speed motors. In Fig. 1 anti-parallel SCRs 22, 23, 24 are connected between a three-phase source 1, 2, 3 and a common output line 19<SP>1</SP>, to a load L. The other load line is an artificial neutral provided by star-connected reactors including inductors 16, 17, 18 and capacitors 13, 14, 15. Firing pulses to the SCRs are selectively switched by transistors T1 to T6, from transformer secondaries 90-95 in a circuit energized by the converter output voltage through a transformer 60, 61. A variable ratio transformer 70 provides for adjustment of the voltage ratio between the output and control circuits. By varying the voltages applied to the transistor bases, by means of resistors 25-30 connected to supply source terminals 1, 2, 3 the SCRs are controlled and the output power is regulated. Pulse forming is a function of a saturable inductor 50 and phase shifting is effected by C52 and R51. C52 is charged by a battery 71 when a double-pole switch S is open and discharges to produce the initial firing pulse when S is closed. Fig. 5 shows the 3-phase input waveforms 1, 2, 3 and the higher frequency output waveform to the load. The neutral axis Y-Y of the H.F. output oscillates about the neutral axis Z-Z of the 3-phase input, at three times the supply frequency, but is said not to affect the peak-to-peak amplitude of the output waveform, significantly. Instead of inductor 50 there may be a saturable transformer (Fig. 2, not shown). In an alternative embodiment, Fig. 6, the timing of the pulses is established by the resonance of the load circuit. Energy for the firing pulses fed via the. pulse transformer secondaries 90-95, is derived from the load current by C.T.2 the output of which charges capacitors 126, 127 via diodes 132, 133. At zero load current a unijunction transistor 130 conducts when a delay capacitor 123, having a discharge rate set by a resistor 124, discharges to a predetermined level, and discharges C126 or C127 through the pulse transformer primary. As illustrated in Fig. 8 the pulse delay capacitor 123 is charged by a square wave voltage CVS which is the sum of a rectified voltage VS derived from the voltage (dependent on load voltage) across an inductor 115 in series with the load, and a rectified voltage CS from C.T.1. In a further embodiment, Fig. 7 (not shown), the pulse transformer is fed by amplified pulses from a flip-flop circuit controlled by a unijunction transistor.
