PURPOSE: A glass etchant is provided to minimize defects generated on the surface after washing or etching the glass while ensuring cleaning ability, and to control the detachment of sludge adhered on an edge portion of the glass. CONSTITUTION: A glass etchant comprises: hydrogen fluoride, ammonium fluoride, alcohol, non-ionic surfactant and anionic surfactant; or hydrogen fluoride, ammonium fluoride, alcohol, non-ionic surfactant, anionic surfactant, inorganic acid and water. The hydrogen fluoride, ammonium fluoride, alcohol, non-ionic surfactant and anionic surfactant are respectively included in the amounts of 1~10 weight%, 0.1~5 weight%, 5~15 weight%, 1~5 weight%, and 1~5 weight%.
