<p>The method involves loading a flexible flat product i.e. printed product, a product group or a product stream with a beam profile, to generate a line profile defined by a light line. An electronic image is detected by an optical sensor, where the image comprises a region of the flat product, the product group or the product stream with a part of the line profile. A product identifier is determined from the image based on the line profile. A measuring information item is generated based on the product identifier, and a signal is generated based on the measuring information item. An independent claim is also included for a device for implementing an optical control method.</p> |
