The invention relates to a system for the conversion and storage of kinetic braking energy of a transportation vehicle. According to the invention, the system takes over the vehicle kinetic energy during braking to convert it into electric energy by means of an electric motor-generator (2) whose rotor (a) is integral with an axle (1) of the vehicle and whose stator (b) is fixed by means of some visco-elastic elements (4) to the vehicle undercarriage, the electric energy produced by the motor-generator (2) being transmitted as alternating current to an electronic power converter (5) which transfers it to some parallel storage systems consisting of an ultracapacitor bank (8) connected in parallel to a storage battery (9), an inertial electromagnetic flywheel accumulator (10) and a battery of thermal resistors (11) which delivers the energy, as heat flow, to a heat accumulator (12) having the role of heat source for a Stirling motor-generator (13) which subsequently achieves the reconversion of thermal energy into electric energy and transfers it back to the converter (5) or to an electric network (14). In order to ensure the system operation during long down-time periods, a photovoltaic panel (15) is mounted on the vehicle, while, upon vehicle starting, acceleration and facing an uphill slope, the motor-generator (2) operates in the engine mode to aid the vehicle propulsion, and in such cases it takes over electric energy from the converter (5) by means of an inverter (17). The whole system is controlled by a control module (18) driven by an operator, by means of a controller (20).
|
