<p>Prepn. of a sterile aq. soln. contng.:- (1) Diethylcarbamazine (1-diethylcarbamyl-4-Me-piperazine), 0.75-1.30 (pref. 1.02) molar (2) A therapeutic accept. anion (pref. citrate) in such propn. that the final pH is 6.0-7.5. (3) A bacteriostatic agent and an antioxidant. For treating bronchitis in cattle and sheep caused by worm infection, e.g. Dictyocaulus viviparus in calves. Pref. admin. as the diacid citrate, 10% w/v (0.255 molar in drug). Present prepn. more nearly 3 moles drug base to 1 mole acid. More concd. prepn., allowing smaller vols. for injection, yet not giving undesirable local reactions.</p> |
