PURPOSE: A system and a method for generating an RGB primary for wide gamut are provided to obtain wide gamut in order to express natural color. CONSTITUTION: A gamut boundary setting unit(202) establishes the color gamut range of the reference gamut using a data set at a specific color space. A gamut coverage determining unit(204) decides the color gamut range of the target gamut satisfies the color gamut range threshold. A gamut efficiency determining unit(205) decides whether the color gamut efficiency of the target gamut is maximum value or not using the target gamut and the reference color gamut.
