PURPOSE: A broadcast receiver and a display controlling method thereof are provided to control OSD(On Screen Display) according to the size of the OSD window, and the length of the corresponding language. CONSTITUTION: An OSD window is generated(S4010). A first phrase inserted into the OSD window is converted into a second phrases(S4020). Whether the phrase insertion part of the OSD window has a space for displaying the second phrases or not is determined using a prestored OSD information(S4030). The display area for the second phrases is adjusted(S4050).
