USE OF GRAFT POLYMER BENEFIT AGENTS IN PRODUCTS FOR LAUNDRY APPLICATIONS

Laundry treatment products comprise a graft polymer benefit agent and at least one additional laundry cleaning ingredient. The graft polymer benefit agent preferably provides soil release or fabric care benefits. The graft polymer benefit agent comprises a polysaccharide backbone and a plurality of graft chains extending from the backbone, each graft chain having a degree of polymerisation between 5 and 250. The graft polymer is substantially free of cross-linking and has a degree of substitution of grafts across a bulk sample in the range of from 0.02 to 1Ø The graft polysaccharide copolymers may be prepared using living-type free radical polymerisation techniques which provide control over the degree of substitution, the graft/co-block composition and structure.
