Anti-fibrinolytically active trans amino- - methyl cyclohexane carboxylic acid

Trans-4-aminomethylcyclohexane-1-carboxylic acid, with anti-fibrinolytic activity, is prepared by the partial hydrogenation of cyclohexane-1,4-dinitrile in the presence of Raney catalysts (pref. Raney Ni or Raney Co) in an aqs. alcoholic solution containing 3-5% LiOH (calc. on dinitrile) using the accurately calculated H2 amount at 90-140 degrees C (pref. 110-120 degrees C) and 1-5 atm and hydrolysis of the 4-aminomethylcyclohexane-1-nitrile obtained.
