Imidoyl isothiocyanates, useful as plant protective agents and chemical intermediates, have formula:- RN=C(NCS)SR1 (where R is optionally substituted aliphatic or aromatic grup and R1 is an optionally substituted aliphatic or aryl group), and are prepared by reacting an isonitrile RNC with a sulphenyl rhodanide R1-S-SCN, where R1 is opt. substd. alkyl or aryl gp., optionally in the presence of an inert organic diluent at -50 to +50 degrees C. |
