Three webs 1, 2, 3, (Fig. 1), are welded together to form two-compartment sachets (Fig. 5), the outer webs 1, 2 passing over guides 4a, 4b shaped (Figs. 2 and 3, not shown) to hold the compartments open for filling, and such that all the points on the outer webs pass through the same path-length. In the form illustrated longitudinal and transverse welds are performed by welding rollers 6, to provide a series of rows of sachets which are cut longitudinally by blades (not shown) and transversely by a guillotine 8. The material may be delivered in measured quantities at A, B through tubes which may reciprocate so that they pass into the interior of the sachet when the transverse welding protuberances 7 are separated. |
