FIELD: medicine. ^ SUBSTANCE: method for prediction of duration of a recurrence-free interval in patients with rectal cancer consisting in the fact that the surgical removal of a peritumoural recurrence is followed with biochemical analysis of the concentration of polypeptide hormone prolactin, and its specified tissue value enables to determine duration of the recurrence-free interval. ^ EFFECT: method allows predicting duration of the recurrence-free interval following the removal of the recurrence. ^ 1 tbl
