<p>1.16-dioyl-bis(3-carboxy 2.4.6-triiodoanilin of formula: together with non-toxic, water soluble metal and amine salts, are active as the shadow component in X-ray contrast agents especially for the gall bladder. The compounds may be prepared by reacting 3-amino-2,4,6-triiodobenzoic acid with 4.7.10.13 tetraoxahexadecane 1.16-dicarboxylic acid, and are suitable for parenteral use.</p> |
