Detergent composition with thermo-controlled foaming capacity. Compsn which is low foaming at high temps. and has acceptable foaming characteristics at low temps. contains a water-sol. anionic synthetic detergent, aliphatic carboxylic acids and/or their salts, the acids and/or salts being partly replaced by cyclic acids and/or their salts of formula:- (in which R is a 6-membered C ring; R1 and R2 are C chains may contain 1 or more double bonds, R1 is C1-16, and R2 is C2-21, the total no. of C in R1 and R2 being between 5 and 33, pref. 5-17, and Z is H or a salt-forming element or gp.).
