A device for dewatering sediment contains an electroosmotic filter press with cathode and anode electrodes, a rectifier with possibility of feeding to electrodes of a filter press of adjustable voltage and dc pulses obtained by rectifying alternating current. The rectifier is equipped with an oscillator-pulse shaper or a pulse generator with reverse polarity with possibility of supply to the electrodes of filter press of dc pulses, which are alternated with the pulses of reverse polarity of shorter duration with adjustable amplitude and duration.
