PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filtering method by which cost is reduced and a long-period stable operation is attained. SOLUTION: In the filtering method of filtering liquid L to be filtered, for which suspended matter components are fine particles containing inorganic components by a porous hollow fiber membrane 3, the porous hollow fiber membrane 3 is a multilayer membrane which comprises a thermoplastic resin and is constituted of at least two layers, and for which the weight average molecular weight of the thermoplastic resin configuring one layer (A) on the inner surface side is 400,000 and the weight average molecular weight of the thermoplastic resin configuring one layer (B) on the outermost surface is≥400,000. By using a module 1 including the porous hollow fiber membrane 3, filtration is performed from the outer surface side to the inner surface side of the porous hollow fiber membrane 3.
